Charming, witty, romantic, sexy… I loved this novella! What it lacks in page count it more than makes up for in story, and this is how novellas should be done! In Eloisa James's companion story to The Ugly Duchess, Sir Griffin Barry, captain of the infamous pirate ship The Poppy, is back in England to claim the wife he hasn't seen since their wedding day . . . but this is one treasure that will not be so easy to capture.I’ll say it again, just in case I wasn’t clear: I. Loved. This. Story! I loved Griffin, Pheobe, Shark, Griffin’s dad the Viscount Moncrieff, Lyddie, Nanny McGillycuddy, Alastair, Margaret, and especially the adorably fierce, wee pirate in training, Colin. I hadn’t realized just how much I wanted to read Griffin's story until I had read Griffin's story and loved every word! I smiled, giggled, and sighed my way through Seduced...

Eloisa James’ latest offering is an exciting tale fraught with twists and turns that moved me to finish The Ugly Duchess in one day. Not your average Regency piece; James’ vibrant characters seduced me from the start, and kept me rived throughout. Her protagonists are known by many names but their steadfast natures bind them and the reader right through to the end. I adore James’ fun style. Her strong intriguing protagonists drive this rousing take on the second chance at love trope. I’m certainly going to be adding more Eloisa James to my ‘to read list’ and you should too. As an added bonus James has included a short story that also explores the second chance at love trope, and an excerpt from another of her fairy tale series. I think that makes this find a great introduction to Eloisa James!

My Synopsis: Once upon a time there was a young heiress and young Earl who were best friends. They could tell the other anything and everything. Their parents had been best friends, as well, and when Theo's father passed, James' father took Theo and her mother in. They were raised as brother and sister living under the same roof. Then one day James' father, the Duke of Ashbrook, did something that would change everything.... “You’ll have to marry her. His father turned and walked toward the far wall of the library, acting as if he’d said nothing particularly out of the ordinary....
