Review: Never Judge a Lady by her Cover by Sarah MacLean

I’m one of the readers of this series who was completely blindsided by the revelation of Chase’s identity. After three previous books and many, many scenes where Chase was this mysterious figure who interfered over and again in the lives of the other owners of the Fallen Angel and who moved the members of the ton around like chess pieces to suit her needs and motives, I was a little shocked to find out it was indeed Georgiana, sister to the Duke of Leighton from Eleven Scandals to Win a Duke’s Heart. Lady Georgiana was just a 17-year-old girl who thought she was in love when she gifted her virginity to a man she hoped to spend the rest of her life with. Only, he had other ideas and left her pregnant and unwed. Ruined before her life really had a chance to begin. So she goes off to have her baby and is happy for a...

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover (Rules of Scoundrels #2) by Sarah MacLean

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover is the second book in Sarah MacLean’s The Rules of Scoundrels series, and from the first page to the last, simply wonderful! It’s witty, poignant, romantic, and sexy, and a story I simply couldn’t put down! Cover blurb: Lady Philippa Marbury is odd. The bespectacled, brilliant fourth daughter of the Marquess of Needham and Dolby cares more for books than balls, flora than fashion and science than the season. Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover

I promised the folks at Avon that I would post a review today, the release date of Sarah MacLean’s fourth book in her Rule of Scoundrels series. Alas, a nasty case of bronchitis infringed on my reading time. It is perilously difficult to try to cough and read at the same time. i have been reading Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover all day, so I wouldn’t miss my deadline. Not surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it as I had the earlier three novels. What one might have supposed would be the hero of the book turns out to be the heroine. Or rather, two heroines. Lady Georgiana has not one, but two alter egos. One of them is the fourth owner of the gaming hell, the Fallen Angel. Newspaperman Duncan West is observant enough to put two and two together and quickly realizes the lady and the madam are...

She has come to terms with this and found her own way to get back at those who snubbed her while cheering her demise. But now the time has come for her to take her place in Society again; opening herself back up to the scorn and ridicule she knows will be heaped upon her in order to secure her child’s future. Our hero, Duncan...

ARC Review: Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover by Sarah MacLean

Sarah MacLean is one fantastic, uber-great writer/storyteller! I absolutely loved “The Rules of Scoundrels” series. For anyone that has never read the series, there are four partners brought together by Chase. Chase is the owner/mastermind behind “The Fallen Angel.” The Fallen Angel is a den of sin! It’s a gaming hall where only a few of society’s favorites are invited. In each of the previous books each owner of “The Fallen Angel” have their love story. I loved each book except for one that I was not crazy about. My all-time favorite is “No Good Duke Goes Unpunished.” MacLean was pure genius with that story, in my opinion. One of owners of “The Fallen Angel” is Duncan West. His story is a little different than the Marquess of Bourne (A Rogue by Any other Name), Lord Castleton (One Good Earl Deserves a Lover) and Temple (No Good Duke Goes Unpunished...
