Where do I put my books?

As a writer I’ve learned a lot about marketing and where books sell and don’t. Before I published my first book I had never heard of many of these sites. As just a reader I was aware of Amazon and Barnes & Nobles and places like that. Now that I’ve done research it’s amazing how many are out there. Here are some of the places I’ve found and how I’ve done with these. E-book Sites: 1: Amazon: This was the first place I put my books. The first two I actually put in under KDP Select which for me was a mistake. For some KDP Select works, but it just didn’t work for me. It limits where you can put your work. As for Amazon it’s gone pretty well. They make it so easy to put your books on their site and it’s highly recognized. 2: Smashwords.com: This site was...

Can EBook Pirating and Resales Be Stopped?

Yo ho! I recently read an article by Suw Charman-Anderson, Forbes Magazine, whereby she talks about the issues of ebook pirating. As Charman-Anderson states, ‘Piracy’s here. It’s staying. We can’t stop it. So we need to find inventive and attractive ways to work around it.’. I have to say, I couldn’t agree more. Theft and/or piracy have been around for a long, long time. Since time immemorial, people have had to come up with ways of engaging the legitimate buyer and enticing them to purchase their product or service at market value, rather than through theft. Yes, there have always been those who have sought ways to steal rather than purchase, but I believe most people would rather be honest and do the right thing. She also mentions that authors themselves have a vested interest in connecting with readers and thereby thwarting the pirates. Lovely as the vision is of...

A Notorious Countess Confesses

Today, the fabulous Julie Anne Long is giving away an  2 advance digital copies of her November release, A NOTORIOUS COUNTESS CONFESSES. This book is the 7th in her Pennyroyal series — WHAT I DID FOR A DUKE was my favourite read of 2011. Entering to win is as simple as commenting. Good Luck! ~*~*~ She rose to spectacular heights . . . From Covent Garden to courtesan to countess, beautiful, fearless, shamelessly ambitious Evie Duggan has riveted London in every role she plays. But the ton never could forgive her scandalous—if shockingly short—marriage, and when her star plummets amid gleefully vicious gossip, the countess escapes to the only legacy left to her: a manor house in Pennyroyal Green.
