Having already read the first two Chattan Curse novels, LYON’S BRIDE and THE SCOTTISH WITCH, I had no choice but to find out if Margaret would be able to solve the mystery of the little white cat, end the curse, and fall in love in THE DEVIL’S HEART by Cathy Maxwell. Well, I was not disappointed. In fact, the final book of this series is by far the best of the trio and concludes with a fabulous and heart-wrenching finish. ***eARC provided by publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest and unscripted review. Blurb for THE DEVIL’S HEART: They call her the Unattainable. Lady Margaret Chattan spurned every suitor for her hand, vowing never to marry. Star-crossed lovers will capture your heart in Cathy Maxwell’s The Price of Indiscretion. In this emotional read, love just doesn’t seem enough in the face of many obstacles. I recently won a copy at the ARRC (Australian Romance Readers Convention). And wow, am I glad that I did. Many years ago, American Miranda Cameron fell in love with Alex Haddon, a half British, half Shawnee man. They met each other in secret, unwilling to let the world intrude on their romance. But Miranda’s father finds out, and Alex’s Native American heritage enrages him, almost costing Alex his life. Now, years later, Miranda is her sisters’ only hope for survival. She must marry a titled, wealthy man – despite the fact she has no desire to do so. And where are all the respectable bachelors? London, of course! What Miranda didn’t count on was meeting Alex on the trip to England...

Javier Bardem, Rafael Nadal, Antonio Banderas, Iker Casillas (Don’t know who he is? Goggle him. You will thank me.) Do I have your attention? I think Spanish men are delicious eye candy. The Spanish as a people are some of the most beautiful in the world. They are intelligent and talented as well. I don’t want you to think I am so shallow that my head can be turned by strong noses, square jaws, piercing eyes, well-defined pecks, not to mention that macho masculinity--? Wait! What am I doing here? Ah, yes, talking about the Christmas habits of one of my favorite characters—Spaniard Andres Ramigio, Barón de Vasconia. Andres is featured in two of my books. His first appearance is in THE EARL CLAIMS HIS WIFE and then he receives his own story (and happy ending) in HIS CHRISTMAS PLEASURE. But I’m sharing a recipe—not guys, alas! In Spain, seafood...

A few weeks back, I started a discussion about series and gave away three copies of LYON'S BRIDE, a Chattan Curse novel by Cathy Maxwell provided to me, by Avon Romance, as an Avon Addict. I hadn't read it yet but since I've got a special posting coming up on Monday for the AVON ADDICT BLOG HOP featuring the next book in the Chattan Curse series, THE SCOTTISH WITCH, I thought I should read this one first. I saved one of the copies just for that purpose. I'll be parting with it in the next giveaway but more on that another time. ***Print copy supplied by publisher for reading, my choice to review and as always it will be honest and unscripted. Blurb for LYON'S BRIDE: "When a Chattan male falls in love, strike his heart with fire from above..." They call him Lord Lyon, proud, determined-- and cursed. He...

Thank you for delaying plans for college, marriage, and other opportunities and choosing to serve. Thank you for braving the unspeakable horrors of war. Thank you for sacrificing time with your families and missing those significant milestones the rest of us take for granted. Thank you to your spouses who find themselves living nomadic lives, often far away from the support of loved ones. Thank you to your children who accept...
