Wild About You by Kerrelyn Sparks
Well
at last I have my story! I've being waiting for Howard for forever.
This story was one of the best on Mrs. Sparks repertoire of awesome
books.
Howard, as we who follow the Love at Stake series by
Kerrelyn Sparks know, is a were-bear. We also got a glimpse of his
nemesis Rhett at Wanted: Undead or Alive.
What
we don't know, but are made to understand in this book, is that Howard
and his clan are cursed. This curse comes from a thousand years back,
based on betrayal and deceive.
But as many a young generation
Howard doesn't believe in it and pushes it aside like a crazy fairy tale
his grandfather loves to tell. But as he discovers, the same way them
weres, vamps, angels, etc. are good tales for us mare mortals, so is his
curse. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean is not there.
I'll
mention the cover of the book really quickly as it was a mystery to me
why the guy was grey. Well it is as simple as before and after Howard
shifts he is momentarily colorless. And let me tell you that is so cool!
Okay,
back to the story. Shanna accidentally (or maybe not so accidentally)
finds out Howard's obsession with Elsa Bjornberg a TV star for a
re-construction program (Can we say Property Brothers (HGTV show) but
with the addition of a sexy 6' tall blond in shorts?) and decides to
call on her to fix the new house where she will be living with her
family near the Dragon Nest Academy.
But what no body can guess
is that Howard's obsession with Elsa goes farther then mare attraction.
When secrets and destinies are revealed their new found and growing
relationship will be put to the test and it might come to an end sooner
than they might like. Or will it?
I couldn't have asked for a
better story for Howard. I literally have nothing to say about the book
that doesn't reveal anything. It was that good (at least for me).
Kerrelyn does it again and I can't wait for the next one.
