Jeaniene Frost

New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost has always been drawn to the strange. As a child, she and her sisters would sneak out and watch horror movies at every opportunity. At 12, she began writing poetry. Shortly after that, she read her first romance novel, and it was love at first read! She knew she wanted to write her own novel someday, but figured she had plenty of time. That same "plenty of time" mentality also lingered past her teens and through her twenties, however. It wasn’t until Frost was almost 30 that she realized she’d either have to start then—or resign herself to never doing it.

She chose the former. When she sat down to write her novel, she knew it had to have her two favorite elements in it: urban fantasy and romance. Everyone has a favorite "What if they were real?" creature. For Frost, it’s vampires. The first time she went to Sunday school, her minister pointed to the cross on the wall and asked her if she knew what it stood for. With all of the logic of a 5-year-old, Frost replied, "Yes, that’s what keeps the vampires away!"

It was just one of the many times she embarrassed her parents in public. You could also say Frost’s been hooked on vampires ever since.

Frost lives in Florida with her husband, Matthew, who long ago accepted that she swears like a sailor, rarely cooks, and always sleeps in on the weekends. She and Matthew are the proud parents of Gypsy, their very spoiled dog, who believes Frost's only purpose in life is to cater to her. Aside from writing, Frost enjoys reading, poetry, watching movies with her husband, exploring old cemeteries, spelunking, and traveling—by car. Airplanes, children, and cookbooks frighten her.

OTHER DISCUSSIONS HAPPENING IN GENERAL Romance

I absolutely adore Jeaniene Frost. I’ve read the book “First Drop Of Crimson” and was hooked. So I immediately ordered “Eternal Kiss Of Darkness” loved it as well. Being a cancer survivor makes you want to escape the harsh realities of this vicious disease. Reading her books takes me away to a different time and place. I become totally lost in the characters and am craving the “Night Huntress” series. Either I’m laughing with the humor, fighting in the action or melting in the romance. You make it all come to life! I’m wondering will you write a book based on Vlad Tepesh?
I enjoyed his character so much. Keep writing Jeaniene Frost and I’ll keep reading. You ha
