8 People Love This Book

Heartsick and desperate to return home to America, Georgina Anderson boards the Maiden Anne disguised as a cabin boy, never dreaming she'll be forced into intimate servitude at the whim of the ship's irrepressible captain, James Mallory. The black sheep of a proud and tempestuous family, the handsome ex-pirate once swore no woman alive could entice him into matrimony. But on the high seas his resolve will be weakened by an unrestrained passion and by the high-spirited beauty whose love of freedom and adventure rivals his own.

Throwback Thursday!

Yesterday, in honor of the new royal baby, I asked people on Twitter to tell me their favorite romances with heroes named George. One of the responses reminded me of a classic romance that I desperately need to go back and reread now. So, in honor of Bonny Prince George, today's Romance Throwback Thursday is Johanna Lindsey's GENTLE ROGUE. True, it's the heroine who's name is George (short for Georgina - she has to pretend to be a boy to get home on a ship) but it's an absolutely amazing book. It's just the perfect Mallory novel and one that you can keep reading and rereading. (I know that from personal experience!) Did you know that all of Johanna Lindsey's Avon books are available in ebook format? They are! Go collect the set! p.s. If you don't follow me on twitter yet, I'm @TessaofAvonlea. (Yes, my twitter handle is an...

Anyone who've read the Malory series by Lindsey will know why it's one of my favorites. It's book 3 in the Malory series and I believe it should be read in order, but trust me, you'll love them all. Gentle Rogue is about Georgina "George" Anderson & James Malory. Georgina plans to sail back to America under the guise of a boy. James figures it out and keeps her close. Once back in America her brothers flip out when they find out that she was with him all this time, and who he is. It's a wild ride for both of them and a wonderful story. I can't tell you enough how much I love James and his wit. I...
