How can she dare to imagine he loves her . . . when all London calls her The Ugly Duchess? Theodora Saxby is the last woman anyone expects the gorgeous James Ryburn, heir to the Duchy of Ashbrook, to marry. But after a romantic proposal before the prince himself, even practical Theo finds herself convinced of her soon-to-be duke's passion. Still, the tabloids give the marriage six months. Theo would have given it a lifetime . . . until she discovers that James desired not her heart, and certainly not her countenance, but her dowry. Society was shocked by their wedding . . . and is scandalized by their separation. Now James faces the battle of his life, convincing Theo that he loves the duckling who blossomed into the swan. And Theo will quickly find that, for a man with the soul of a pirate, All's Fair in Love—and War.

REVIEW: I am and always will be a fan of Eloisa’s!   I loved The Ugly Duchess and Seduced by a Pirate so to have more is just awesome.  This is the story of Grace and Colin.  Colin has gone to the sea like his adopted father but war is never the romantic thing we think it should be.  Grace has thought Colin was amazing for most of her life but being the “plain” daughter, she has always felt she was watching from the...

Eloisa James on Linda Howard’s MacKenzie’s Mountain

Great glasses! I’m very very lucky to live in the same city as the fabulous Eloisa James for lots of reasons, not the least of which is this–she’s always willing to have a rousing conversation about romance novels. I don’t use the term rousing loosely. The woman loves romances and has read what seems like all of them…which makes conversations about the genre–I’ll say it again–rousing and awesome. So, of course, when I launched Girls Who Wear Glasses month to celebrate One Good Earl Deserves a Lover, I knew Eloisa (who is, I might add, one of my favorite ladies in lenses) would come up with an amazing lady in lenses…and boy was I right! *** One of my favorite girls-in-glasses romances is in the outrageously non-PC MacKenzie’s Mountain, by Linda Howard (first published back in 1989 and it’s held up!). In the preface, Linda says that she wanted to write “a...

Avon Addict Blog Hop: Q & A with Avon Author Juliana Stone and HUGE SWAG GIVEAWAY!

Q & A with Avon Author Juliana Stone  Bio Juliana Stone has always believed in the power of a good story. When her first narrative, a futuristic story about Santa Claus set in a world that resembled her friend’s hamster cage, was a hit with her fourth-grade teacher, she discovered her calling was writing: novels, short stories, songs. As long as she was writing, she was happy. During a stint on the music end of things, she toured Canada fronting an all-female rock band, and after meeting her husband, she fell into married life. Kids, dog, and the requisite white picket fence followed, and her writing took a bit of a backseat. But in the fall of 2007, she decided to resurrect her love of writing and, inspired by the paranormal works of Christine Feehan, Keri Arthur, and Lynsay Sands, she set out to write something great. Luckily, a unique world of...

Seduced by a Pirate- Eloisa James, Novella Review

We were introduced to the legend, Sir Griffin Barry, cousin of the hero in Eloisa James latest release, The Ugly Duchess. Sir Griffin Barry left his bride on the night of their wedding and never consummated the marriage; he was kidnapped on a pirate ship that he eventually becomes Captain. He returns 14 years later looking for his Bride only to discover that Poppy (Phoebe) now has three children and has no desire to be married. Once Poppy sets eyes on her estranged husband sparks fly and before long one thing leads to another a fire definitely ignites! This is a lovely quick read, it's funny and romantic and is very much worth the bargain price of .99!I bought this, read it and also gifted it to a friend that loves a good quick read, she immediately responded with a prompt Thank You, saying it made her day, she read...

Seduced by a Pirate by Eloisa James

Charming, witty, romantic, sexy… I loved this novella! What it lacks in page count it more than makes up for in story, and this is how novellas should be done! In Eloisa James's companion story to The Ugly Duchess, Sir Griffin Barry, captain of the infamous pirate ship The Poppy, is back in England to claim the wife he hasn't seen since their wedding day . . . but this is one treasure that will not be so easy to capture.I’ll say it again, just in case I wasn’t clear: I. Loved. This. Story! I loved Griffin, Pheobe, Shark, Griffin’s dad the Viscount Moncrieff, Lyddie, Nanny McGillycuddy, Alastair, Margaret, and especially the adorably fierce, wee pirate in training, Colin. I hadn’t realized just how much I wanted to read Griffin's story until I had read Griffin's story and loved every word! I smiled, giggled, and sighed my way through Seduced...
