Hotter than Wildfire

Dear Reader,

On April 5, 2011, HOTTER THAN WILDFIRE, Book 2 of The Protector series, goes on sale.

Harry Bolt, Delta operator, came back from Afghanistan more dead than alive, unable to walk, unwilling to live. Only one thing kept him going—the magical voice of a woman known only as Eve.

Harry has been a protector since the day he lost his baby sister to violence when he was a young boy. He and his two best friends, Sam Reston and Mike Keillor, run a well-known and highly successful security company. But they also run an underground railroad for abused women and children.

Protection runs in his blood, but when one day a beautiful young woman with a mesmerizing voice, on the run from killers, walks into his office, his entire being going on red alert. It’s no longer just a question of his instincts, but also of his heart.

As a writer, as a woman, I find the whole question of protection fascinating. In the truest sense of the term, protection is love. And love is protection. Lovers protect each other, parents protect their children. There is no greater expression of love than to stand in front of danger for those who have your heart. But protection isn’t just about defending loved ones from physical danger. It’s protecting them from the sharper shards of life. Creating a magic circle around the loved one. When the outside world turns dark and dangerous, no harm can come to you inside the circle of love.

Are you a protector? Or is there a family member or beloved friend who plays this role in your life?

Note: One lucky commenter will receive a copy of HOTTER THAN WILDFIRE and the book that kicked off the series, INTO THE CROSSFIRE.

I’m not in the protector role. I think my brother and my parents are usually the ones who hold that title. I think everyone in the family takes care of each other. Thanks for the giveaway.

I am definitely a protector when it comes to my family. The Protector series sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to read it. I would love to be entered in the giveaway.

    Congratulations!

I couldn’t agree more. Love = protection. It takes so many forms, too. But basically, it’s loving someone more than yourself.

Wow! This series sounds terrific! A protector is a man who takes care of his family in all circumstances, especially when wealth is unavailable or unattainable. A man with a compassionate heart, strong principles, honor and humor will always be heroic to those who love him. Money cannot buy those qualities. What makes a man most attractive is a quiet confidence, a definite masculinity, that shows itself in thought and action. I was lucky enough to have a wonderful grandfather who protected and provided for his family to the very best of his ability. He was a humble man, but his shoes are impossible to fill.

I’d love to win “Into the Crossfire” and “Into the Wildfire” : )

Like you said, I think if you love someone, how could you not become a protector. I would consider myself a protector, because I would do just about anything for someone that I loved.

I’ve been looking forward to this book! Congrats Lisa Marie!!!
