Books We Love

In honor of Valentine’s Day, which is just around the corner, this week on the Avon blog will be devoted to things we love—and things YOU loveFirst up, books we love…and to narrow it down, how about books that have “love” in the title? Fortunately, since we are talking about the world of romance, “love” is probably the most commonly used word on a cover (with the second most common word being “duke”).

I’d like to nominate You Only Love Once, the third installment of the Bow Street Agents trilogy by Caroline Linden, billed as James Bond in the Regency era. This time, though, the spy is female: Angelique Martand, the most dangerous agent in England, entrusted with looking after the devilishly handsome Nate Avery. All’s fair in love and espionage…

What other books do you love (and whose titles include the word “love”)?

Eat Prey Love by Kerrelyn Sparks was the first book that came to mind, then Love Bites By Lyndsey Sands. Guess you can tell what type of romances I read! LOL!

The book that got me “hooked” on historical romance was The Greatest Lover in England by Christina Dodd – I checked it’s even available here at Avon as an e-book. My original copy had disappeared and they closed are local bookstore so fortunately a got a Kindle for Christmas – much faster than waiting for getting a book your dying to read thru the mail. The selection here was terrific. This is the one book that I had the most fun reading and laughed and cried thru the entire book! Great well developed story and well thought out characters.

If you haven’t read it be sure to check it out. It’s not to be missed and a true love story.

Well I see someone else has used the same titles I’m using.

Eat Prey Love by Kerrilyn Sparks, Love Bites by Lynsay Sands. These were just a couple I could think of off the top of my head.

Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it, but it’s also one of the first romances I read – The Devil’s Love by Julia London. It’s still on my keeper shelf. :)
