Let’s Embrace a Little Darkness, Shall We?

I’m absolutely thrilled that my second book in the Jaguar Warrior Series, His Darkest Embrace, is on shelves everywhere!  This book continues the story arc that began with His Darkest Hunger. It features Jagger, the youngest of the three Castille brothers and Skye Knightly, an eagle knight and his natural enemy.  They must learn to trust, to love and to defeat the darkness that’s slowly invading their world.

 Oh, the darkness.  What is it that excites us about life and death?  Is it the passion?  The extremes our characters are willing to go to achieve their goals?

 For me, it’s all of it.  I love a chaotic ride, the peril, and–oh yes–the passion!  My Castille brothers are all complicated, alpha men who play hard and love like there is no tomorrow.  And let’s face it, when reading a paranormal romance it’s not all about puppies and rainbows.  I want a man who is take charge.  One who I’m positive will win the prize at the end of the day.

 And in the books I write, the prize is usually something along the lines of saving a life or two along the way…and maybe the world along the way!

 Oh yes, I like it dark and twisted with an edge and my characters usually end up painted with these same strokes.

 Jagger Castille has lots of baggage.  He’s a black ops soldier returned from Iraq and Afghanistan with memories that haunt him: too much pain and dying and the loss of someone he cared for.  When His Darkest Embrace begins, he’s been living in the jungles of Belize for three months, his humanity forgotten, his animal in charge.

 Skye Knightly has lost her father; in fact, her people have been hunted to near extinction by Magicks and jaguar warriors.  She’s on a mission, one that when complete will mean the sacrifice of her life in order to save the world.  Demons are knocking hard and as of now, she’s the only hope.

 Pretty dark, no?  And these two enemies will have to work together in order to save each other.  If they’re lucky, they might just enjoy a little lovin’ along the way.

In my Jaguar Warrior books, the main characters are shifters, but I do have otherworld creatures such as magicks, demons and vampires.  If it’s dark, I love it all.
