Reading Romance with Eloisa James: Presumed Innocent
June 07, 2010
Turn on the television and a common theme is often present in our favorite shows, from Sex and the City to reality tv: women who areĀ cynical and disillusioned about love. Over at Eloisa James’ Reading Romance column this month, Eloisa talks about romance novels in 2010 that are the “antidote to contemporary Mae Wests, to Sex in the City and Housewives from Big Cities”, and how the allure of innocence is still strong.
Her column looks at five novels whose heroines are all joyfully astonished by males, including two of Avon’s must-read romances for June–Meg Cabot’s Insatiable and Julia Quinn’s Ten Things I Love About You. Read Eloisa’s column and share your thoughts on the topic here!
