A Royal Wedding!

I am just a little too young to have been around for Princess Diana and the Royal Wedding of the Century but, if all goes according to plan, I may just be in luck for witnessing this century’s giant royal wedding!

Yes, that’s right, I am one of those girls waiting with bated breath for the handsome and charming Prince William to propose to his glamorous and beautiful girlfriend, Kate Middleton. (And, yes, I would care even if I didn’t have a Kate Middleton biography going on sale today!)

Of course, part of me will always be a little sad that I didn’t force my parents to send me to St. Andrew’s so that I could meet the prince. Because obviously, he would have fallen in love with me on sight and then I could be the one having the Royal Wedding of the Century. But I’m definitely on “Team Kate” right now. She’s got such a great sense of style, I imagine her wedding will be an incredibly classy and sophisticated affair. I, for one, can’t wait!

What about you? What’s your favorite royal love story? Is it Princess Di? Henry VIII and his many loves? What about Princess Letizia — the Spanish princess with the love story straight out of a Harlequin Romance? She was a television presenter and she and (incredibly cute) Prince Felipe managed to keep their relationship a giant secret until he proposed! Now that’s a great love story.

I loved, loved, loved watching Di’s wedding. I was so young yet so entranced. She was a true fairytale princess.

I wasn’t even born when this real life fairy tale wedding happened in 1956. I probably wasn’t even a gleam in my father’s eye yet but I grew up watching the beautiful Grace Kelly and her fairy tale life with Prince Ranier of Monaco. I was born the same year as her eldest, Princess Caroline and envied the little princess who had such beautiful parents. I often wondered if there was true love between them but became a believer when I saw how devastated Prince Ranier was when his beautiful Princess Grace died. They were truly fairy tale royalty in love.

Uh-hmmm, I am old enough to remember Princess Di’s wedding; in fact, I got up at 3 in the morning or so to watch it. It was lovely and romantic; too bad the fairy tale didn’t end that way.

I think that the love story of Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark and Mary, the Australian miss who captured his heart, is a romantic real-life story.
